Boy, now would be a really good time for Trump and the Republican Party to take a stand…

And leave Twitter, right now, instead of continuously tweeting and then complaining when their tweets are being censored. They could move to, for instance, Gab or Parler (Gab’s interface, usability, everything is so superior to Parler–I can’t even view my DMs on Parler), and people will promote those accounts just to see what they’re saying about the election.

Cry more, lib

I remember just a few days ago now when young Madison Cawthorn wrote an article in the Daily Wire calling for a “New Republican Party,” and then changed the language of his website to be more PC after cries of racism from the Bulwark.

Now, Cawthorn has garnered the scorn of some others on the right for his hilarious victory lap: “Cry more, lib.”

Of course, Justin Amash had to cry about how this is proof of the Orange Man Bad populism ruining the nation:

Cry more indeed, libertarian.

Why I (already) voted for Trump

To keep it short: to trigger the libs.

On a more serious note, yes, there are many things the Trump administration and Trump campaign have done that have disappointed me: attacking Biden for praising the Daughters of the Confederacy (even after their building was torched), making a homage video to George Floyd (thankfully, Twitter miraculously saved the Trump team from itself), the endless pandering with the Platinum Plan and the American Dream Act, and, of course, bizzaro-world criminal justice reform that no one even asked for besides the daughter of one of OJ Simpson’s lawyers that has let an untold number of feral criminals back onto the streets to terrorize their neighborhoods again.

All of that amounts to Trump basically buying into “diversity is our strength.”

On the other hand, Biden’s campaign literally started with an advertisement praising violent Antifa activists, calling them heroes:

(Of course, the Antifa group praised wanted nothing to do with him)

This ad was released in April 2019, and over the past year+ since it’s been live, no one really seems to have even called Biden out for his praise of people who have been destroying cities all across America.

While Trump has done quite a few disappointing things, imagine having a President of the United States, and a vice president, who quite literally praise terrorists. We all know Biden is senile, and Kamala will really be the one in charge, and between the constant pandering about Charlottesville and Kamala’s video praising communism the other day, we really don’t want to see what will happen to right-wing dissidents when the radicals are in charge. Sure, Trump might not be right-wing enough for me. But at least I don’t think he’ll be putting me in a re-education gulag for thought crimes any time soon.

Better a criminal than a thought criminal

I’m sure many of you reading this blog already know about what happened to me in May. A presumed difference of political opinion cost me my livelihood, my health insurance, and everything I needed to stay alive during this whole pandemic.

It’s been almost exactly six months to the day… and I still have not found work.

I touched on this topic a lot before in private: people love a good redemption story. People love companies that give a second chance to a convicted felon. People love helping those who hit rock bottom, even if it’s by their own doing. For many conservative and libertarian organizations, if you have a gap on your resume because you served time, that’s actually looked at as a plus, something that sets you apart from the rest, something that could even help you in the trendy criminal justice reform crusades and minority community outreach (this is something I’ve seen the GOP, conservative groups, and libertarian groups do firsthand). Some organizations “ban the box” entirely, so your criminal history never matters. And some companies even get special benefits from the government for helping convicted criminals get on their feet again.

But if your Google results are marred with a hit piece, claims that you’re somehow irredeemable bad because of your political views? Well, then you’re ruined for life. It’s easier for someone to get their resume in a junk pile based on a Google search than a criminal background check, if that’s even done anymore. People always Google prospective applicants. They almost never–at least not in the white collar world–do criminal background checks. Those you have to pay for.

If you’re a convicted murderer, you have a better chance at getting a mainstream job than you do if your Google search results have been tainted forever. Dave’s Killer Bread is a household brand. But if you have the “wrong” political views, then get deplatformed on top of that, no one will ever care if you become homeless and therefore, become even more alienated and disaffected. That’s how our society really views second chances.

If you’re a criminal, you’ve served your time. You’ve paid your debt to society. If you’re a thought criminal, there is a never ending list of new punishments for you to suffer through. It’s never enough. You must suffer more, forever.

Don Jr. is a libertarian now?

He shared this very dated meme on social media:

This phrase was been in basically every single libertarian’s bio somewhere at some point over the past decade or so.

So, now, is the meme dead? Will libertarians, the contrarians they are, say that this is no longer what libertarianism means to them? Will libertarians post “ORANGE MAN BAD” screeds in response? We’ll see.
